Happy St Patricks Day!

Just had to post a little about beautiful Ireland on this great green St. Patty's Day.  We went to Ireland in May of 2008, just me and fred on our way to Prague. We took three and a half days, rented a car, learned to drive on the opposite side of the road, and literally drove the entire coastline and some of the inland of Ireland. This trip to Ireland and Prague was my favorite trip of my lifetime! So here's to St. Patty's day and here are some photos. I have a photo album on facebook with more pics if you are interested. We visited about 50 castles and climbed the stairs in every single one of them too! haha

This is where we had dinner the first night. In a true ancient old castle.

One of the many beautiful castle's you see just driving down the road!
Somebody's house we passed by
The famous Blarney Castle!
The guest house behind the Blarney Castle
And I had to include this one because it was quite a challenge for Fred and I to remember to keep the car on the LEFT side of the road!
Little coastal town of Doolin, Ireland

I LOVE IRELAND!! It reminded me of growing up in Kentucky in the 1960s.  It's not super developed or commercialized yet.  It is very laid back, there are no franchise stores or restaurants, there arent many rules for driving or parking or anything.  They still have lots of dandelions in their grass.  We stayed in all bed and breakfasts so we were actually in the Irish homes. It was a fabulous trip! (Thanks to our GPS)
