This year we decided not to buy presents at Christmas but to take our girls and their families to Disney World, which was the theme of my last post. However, my girls (and son-in-laws) really out-did themselves with their gifts to me this year. Without a doubt these were my favorite Christmas gifts of all... they really know their mom and what makes her heart happy!
First, Marissa and Kevin hand-made this beautiful Garden Stone with Ella's hand-print in it. Of course there is no way this is going outside. It is proudly displayed by my stove on the kitchen counter.
Then, Whitney and Nathan really surprised us all. I knew that Whitney was learning to knit. But we had no idea she/they had mastered the craft so well! Take a look at the beautiful scarfs and hats they made for us.
Ella loves her new scarf that matches her Momma's scarf!
Nathan hand crocheted this 2-tone fire-engine red hat for Kevin and Whitney made Fred an ear-muff headband for running. It's PCL colors with the logo in the knitting. My beautiful scarf has little sparkles in it that you can't see in this photograph. Just beautiful!
In this day when anything you might want is readily available... there's nothing like a heart-felt hand-crafted gift. It shows that time and thought was put into your gift and what more valuable gift is there than someones time and thoughts. For a mom to receive something that required such a sacrifice is priceless!
